SOLAR RAPTOR HID UV-LAMP WITH INTGR. ALU-REFLECTOR - THE ULTIMATE UV-HIGH POWER LAMP FOR TERRARIUMS

Successful terrarium keepers know it anyway: healthy and species-appropriate reptile keeping requires, above all, the right lighting. Many reptiles have a high demand for UV radiation, daylight and heat. With the SolarRaptor HID lamp you kill three birds with one stone. Because: The SolarRaptor HID-Lamp is a powerful piece of terrarium lighting and helps you to provide terrarium animals with optimal care.

In the areas of UV stability, service life and daylight performance, the SolarRaptor HID lamp sets new standards in terrarium lighting and convinces not least due to its excellent manufacturing quality. This can be felt and seen: A linear sun spectrum with 5,000 K and a color rendering index (CRI) of over 86 bring real sunlight into your terrarium and provide your reptiles with quasi-natural lighting conditions, ideally supporting the color perception of terrarium animals. Not to forget: 70,000 lux (measured at a distance of 30 cm) stand for sun-like brightness. But the SolarRaptor HID lamp is also way ahead in the UV range: Your reptiles are optimally supplied with vital UV-A and UV-B. This not only promotes vitamin D3 synthesis - the basic prerequisite for healthy development of the bone structure or the carapace of terrarium animals and an absolute prerequisite for the prevention of deficiency diseases - but also the natural perception of the environment. Appetite and willingness to mate, for example, are increased quite significantly by an adequate UV supply. Last but not least: The SolarRaptor HID lamp is also a powerful heat source and it ensures that your terrarium protégés can live at real feel-good temperatures.

WHAT MAKES THE SOLARRAPTOR HID-LAMP SUCH A POWERFUL POWERHOUSE FOR MY TERRARIUM?

In a nutshell: serious research results are combined here with modern lighting technology at the highest level. The result is an ingenious high-pressure metal halide lamp that combines the best of several worlds: An unusually high UV stability is paired with a particularly long operating time in the SolarRaptor HID lamp. A comparison with conventional lamps for terrariums reveals just how economical and thus favorable the SolarRaptor HID lamp is. While many UV compact lamps and UV fluorescent tubes often emit hardly enough UV radiation after 3 - 4 months, the SolarRaptor HID-Lamp convinces with its incredibly stable and long-term UV spectrum. This is also reflected in the fact that the recommended operating time of a SolarRaptor HID lamp is a sensational 4,000 operating hours. Of course, you can't compare a Solar Raptor HID lamp to a compact fluorescent lamp or fluorescent tube. But you should compare it with other manufacturers, like our own brand Reptile-Planet Optimax-UV, Lucky Reptile Bright Sun, MegaRay and X-Reptile. Solar Raptor has recently reworked its lamp. This was at the expense of the UVB values, but a good UVB to UVI ratio was achieved. Only Reptile-Planet Optimax UV, MegaRay and X-Reptile have this ratio. Lucky Reptle has missed the way here.

AND WHY DOES A SOLARRAPTOR HID-LAMP LAST SO LONG?

Quite simply, Econlux / Solar Raptor was the first to realize that a high quality aluminum housing lowers temperatures in the hottest part of the terrarium lamp by up to 200° C and the SolarRaptor HID lamp's improved light and heat management, using an innovative facetted reflector, ensures that molecular changes in the quartz glass of the terrarium lamp are significantly slowed down. Another feature is the color temperature of the Solar Raptor HID lamp. Why is it 5,000 K of all things? The explanation is simple: 5,000 K (i.e. 5,000 Kelvin) is the best compromise between pure steppe dwellers with up to 9000k at midday and jungle dwellers with a color temperature under the leaves of 3-4000K. The average value here is around 5000-5500K. In addition, of course, the color temperature changes during the day. It is not always 'white' light in the wild. This makes the SolarRaptor HID lamp so suitable for all terrarium areas and not only reptiles, but also terrarium plants feel really comfortable in such daylight conditions

AND ANOTHER DETAIL SPEAKS FOR AS WELL AS AGAINST THE USE OF THE SOLARRAPTOR HID-LAMP IN THE TERRARIUM:

If you want to illuminate a terrarium really evenly, you like to use terrarium lamps with a particularly wide beam angle. This is actually the right approach. But: until recently there was only the Lucky Reptile 'Flood', which could really be called a flood. But this generates far too little UV radiation, so that far too little vital UV-A and UV-B radiation reaches the lower part of the terrarium. This can prove to be quite fatal, as this is precisely where most terrarium animals reside. The SolarRaptor HID lamp puts an end to this! Due to its ingenious design and impressive power, the SolarRaptor HID-Lamp sends UV radiation even into the deepest areas of the terrarium - an essential factor especially for higher terrariums. Against the use of the Solar Raptor speaks, that the higher UV values are at the expense of the beam angle. For a short time there are two alternatives. The Reptile-Planet Optimax-UV or the MegaRay. Both are available with up to 45° focal angle (90° light emission angle), with much higher UV values like the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun Flood. In Jungle Terrariums it should be noted that depending on the vegetation and height, hardly any UV radiation reaches the bottom anyway!

WHAT YOU MUST PAY ATTENTION TO WHEN OPERATING THE SOLARRAPTOR HID-LAMP:

Be sure to let your SolarRaptor HID lamp "burn in"! When you use the SolarRaptor HID lamp for the first time, you must let your terrarium lamp burn continuously for at least 2 hours. This "burn-in" will stabilize the SolarRaptor HID Lamp and help you avoid damage later. Please never turn on the Solar Raptor just briefly for a test as long as it is not burned in. The SolarRaptor HID lamp needs a suitable ballast such as our Multiwatt EVG switchable via switch from 35, 50 or 70W.
