REPTI PLANET UVB 5.0 does not emit enough heat and light rays. If necessary, combine it with heating and lighting lamps (e.g. Repti Planet Infrared Heat, Daylight Basking Spot, Daylight Frosted, Daylight Neodymium, Far Infrared Heat or Night Heat).
The optimum UVB intensity helps to convert vitamin D3, which ensures calcium absorption. UVB radiation is a part of sunlight that is important for the health of terrier pets and prevents metabolic diseases.

The intensity of UVB radiation in the lamp decreases over the course of use (more than 50% over 1 year). Regular replacement ensures optimum UVB intensity.
When selecting a lamp, it is important to consider not only the type of UVB lamp, but also the species of animal to be bred or kept and the distance of the animal from the UVB radiation source.

It is recommended to check the UVB and UVI values regularly with a UV meter and to replace the lamp after 6-12 months.

It should also be noted that up to 40% of the light and UV output is blocked when using the lamp over a gauze (net). Here we would consider a 5% with higher output or the 10% as an alternative.
